  • FAQ :

Several versions of the software Show Control Editor exist – which version should I use with my player Event Player?

Use a version of Show Control Editor that is 2x or more – versions that are 1x are designed for old AP303 DMX players.

In the software Show Control Editor 2x the playing time of my MP3 file does not match with the playing time shown on the screen.

The software Show Control Editor 2x is not compatible with MP3 files that are coded in VBR (variable bit rate). To create your shows please use MP3 files encoded in CBR (constant bit rate) or WAV files.

The WAV file I created with Protools makes an odd noise each time it starts up.

WAV files created with Protools as well as with certain types of audio software are not standard WAV files. These are WAV Broadcast files which contain ‘metadata’ as well as the standard audio data. The player plays the ‘metadata’ zones in the same way as the audio data, which causes an odd noise at the start of the file reading. To resolve this problem, you can make your WAV files conform by taking out all ‘metadata’ so that only audio data useful to the player is kept. If you do not possess the necessary audio editor to carry out this operation, you can make a copy of your audio file using the software Audacity. This software is under a GPL licence and is free to use whatever your operating system (Windows, Mac OS X or Linux)

I’m using a USB stick with a number of very large audio files. How can I improve the start up time of my player ?

During start up, the Event Player carries out an automatic listing of all the files present on your media support. If the number of files present in each folder is large, this operation can take considerable time. Owing to the technology integrated in Event Player, using an SD or SDHC card is preferable. Start up time will be 4 times faster with a high-performance SD/SDHC card.

I carried out a programming with the software Scheduler 1x launched the folder “000”, but this folder isn’t run at the stated hour.

The “000” folder is a special case. It cannot be launched from a Scheduler programming. Replace the use of the “000” folder with a folder comprising between “001” and “999”. This error will be corrected in future versions of the Scheduler programme.

Which software can I use to access my player in FTP mode ?

Numerous FTP software exist and certain operation systems allow you to directly access an FTP without having to add additional functions. If you don’t possess the standard software, you can use FileZilla software. This software, under GPL licence is free to use whatever your operating system (Windows, Mac OS X or Linux)

I can easily access my player in FTP but when I quit FileZilla the player always displays “-Mode FTP-".

When you disconnect your FTP player in FileZilla, the player is not informed that the software has finished its FTP usage. You must send a “quit” command to allow it to carry out this operation. Before quitting FileZilla, you should go to the “Server” menu, and select “Enter a personalised command...” In the entry field, enter the command “quit” and then press the “OK” button. The player should restart in normal mode, and you can then disconnect from the server and quite the FileZilla software.

My Event Player player is not recognised on my DHCP network.

The Event Player player does not run the dynamic DHCP protocol. The Event Player only functions on a fixed IP network. If you cannot adapt your network to this, use a router which will serve as a link between your DHCP network and your player’s fixed IP.

When I use certain volume markers, the volume does not always reach the anticipated level.

This problem can occur when the volume fixed by your markers exceeds the maximum volume (64) or the minimum volume (00) allowed by the player. For example, if you adjust the standard volume to 45, and then apply a volume maker [V+15] on your folder, the volume is equal to 60 (45+15). If you now changed the standard volume to 55, the volume would be equal to 70 (55+15), but given that the maximum volume is 64, your volume will be at 64 (the maximum). When you quit the file, the volume will not return to the standard volume, but rather to 49 (64-15). This problem is also valid for the minimum volume limit (00). This is why it is recommended that you carry out your volume programming taking account of the chosen standard volume.

My player is working as well as a normal player with its auxiliary audio input, except that its sound level does not always conform to my volume setting.

The auxiliary audio output and input in the player possess two different volume settings. You must therefore adjust each volume individually. To adjust the volume of the principal audio output, you should switch your player into “Main” mode using the player’s “Source” menu. To adjust the auxiliary audio input, you should switch the player into “Aux” mode using the player’s “Source” menu. The volumes’ setting will be carried out in both cases in the same way, with the player’s rotary encoder.

Can I read MP3 encrypted files with my Event Player ?

No. MP3 encrypted files are exclusively designed for the following products: SP603, SP703, MP903, SP203, Micro Player, MyMusic Player, MyStation, and DJVirtuel

I have put a number of large files in the same folder but not all of them seem to have been read. Why ?

The number of files accepted by Event Player in the same folder is limited to 999.

When I plug in my cable in the trigger input connector, my player lights up but does not start up. However, it functions perfectly when I do not plug the cable in.

Make sure that at no point it is closed off to electricity supply. When closed off to electricity supply, the player switches into a special mode which prevents start up.
